Mechanical Technician
We provide on-board liquid hydrogen energy storage and fuel cell power system integration services to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers. We work with hydrogen suppliers to provide liquid hydrogen refueling services for UAV operators.
Location: Elyria, OH
Full Time– 40 hours per week basis, hourly with benefits.
NEOEx Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Technician. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment in support of facility operations, product development, and test operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and a passion for mechanical work in the growing industries of air mobility and energy.
Duties:
- Install, inspect, test, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment following established codes and safety guidelines.
- Assemble water, pneumatic, cryogenic, and vacuum systems.
- Conduct leak checks and cryogenic testing on components and systems per approved test procedures.
- Assemble mechanical structures per approved assembly procedures.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum problems, identify issues, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Perform light machining tasks such as cutting, drilling, grinding, and sanding.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Physically construct or modify existing test setups required to perform testing.
- Conduct both basic and complex testing without supervision.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to assist in the design, layout, installation, and test of new mechanical systems.
- Document all test set-up and test results into laboratory notebook or other designated retention location.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment following written or verbal instruction.
- Inspect and supervise work done by external vendors.
- Monitor equipment, collect data, and ensure testing and production equipment is operating within defined specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and mechanical schematics to effectively carry out assigned tasks.
- Competent with all standard work test procedures.
- Estimate time required to complete lab reports and work orders.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts.
- Develop skills regarding new testing technologies and methodologies as required.
- Comply with all safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Travel to other NEOEx facilities as necessary.
- Conduct other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to use good judgement and common sense to make numerous daily decisions.
- Must be able to reorder priorities in accordance with changing work conditions.
- Must be able to speak and write proficiently in the English language.
- Must be able to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Edge (or equivalent web browser)
- Must be able to use hand power tools.
- Must be able to use a computer.
- Must be able to use a remote video teleconferencing application (i.e. Zoom).
- Must be able to hear audible alarms.
- Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
- Must understand the importance of safety procedures and follow safety practices.
- Must be able to work independently.
