At NEOEx Systems, we are working on an Energy and Power System and a Liquid Hydrogen Refueling System, which will revolutionize drone transportation by providing energy and power for longer duration and range operations. We work closely with UAV manufacturers to integrate our energy and power system into their vehicles to increase flight duration.  

As we continue to grow, we need help, and we are looking for looking for a skilled and reliable Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technician to join our team. As an I&C Technician, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation and control systems and equipment in support of facility operations, product development, and test operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and a passion for instrumentation and controls work in the growing industries of air mobility and energy.

This role will report to the Sr. Director of Operations.

Duties: 

  • Install, inspect, and test new instrumentation and controls systems and equipment following established electrical codes and safety guidelines
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and controls problems, identify faults, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance on instrumentation and controls systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Troubleshoot and repair or replace defective instrumentation and controls components
  • Perform basic AC and DC wiring of components, PLCs, relays, and timers
  • Perform maintenance of alarm and SCADA systems, electrical, pneumatic and electronic controls, programmable controls, and other similar equipment
  • Document all test set-up and test results into laboratory notebook or other designated retention location
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics to effectively carry out assigned tasks
  • Prepare and maintain records and requisition supplies and parts
  • Identify and purchase equipment based on established specifications
  • Conduct other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Relevant technical certification and/or minimum of 5 years of experience in similar role
  • Associate’s Degree preferred

Experience:

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and a multi-meter
  • Ability to use ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, cable testers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to hear audible alarms
  • Experience working with HMIs & PLCs and industrial computers
  • Experience working with P&IDs
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Skills:

  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must ability to speak and write proficiently in the English language 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience using pressure/vacuum systems, pressure gauges, and transducers
  • Experience working with thermocouples
  • Experience working with flowmeters, power meters, and current meters
  • Experience working with intrinsic electrical equipment

At NEOEx Systems, we are working on an Energy and Power System and a Liquid Hydrogen Refueling System, which will revolutionize drone transportation by providing energy and power for longer duration and range operations. We work closely with UAV manufacturers to integrate our energy and power system into their vehicles to increase flight duration.   

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate mechanical systems into ground support equipment for fueling aircraft and for microgrid systems that will include energy generation and energy storage using battery energy storage systems. In addition, the Mechanical Engineer will support the development of electric flight vehicles using design, analytical, and experimental skills to support company research and product development activities 

This role will report to the Sr. Director of Operations. 

Duties: 

  • Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and manufacturing teams and external vendors and partners in developing and operating mechanical systems 
  • Use CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new mechanical system designs and produce detailed mechanical drawings 
  • Specify precise new product functional requirements: design, analyze, test, and integrate a variety of moderately complex components to produce final designs; evaluate the design's overall effectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (risk analysis), and safety 
  • Apply mechanical engineering integration knowledge to create controlled design documentation including but not limited to Design Requirements (functional and interface requirements), Design Documentation, P&IDs, Test Requirements Documents, Component Test Plans, Design Review Packages, Hazards Analyses, and Operational Check Sheets 
  • Create and review material part specifications and bills of materials for purchasing 
  • Participate in design reviews 
  • Assist as necessary in the fabrication, assembly, and integration of mechanical systems 
  • Assist in the conducting of component, subsystem, and system test experiments and document results 
  • Test and conduct on-site commission of mechanical systems 
  • Conduct mechanical engineering calculations and analysis to solve problems 
  • Conduct independent technical research 
  • Prepare project deliverables including written statements of work, technical reports, status reports and budgets. 
  • Present oral technical presentations 
  • Support new product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs) 
  • Support general office and shop operations  
  • Travel to other NEOEx facilities as necessary 
  • Conduct other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

  • Ability to speak and write proficiently in the English language  
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and a multi-meter 
  • Experience using SolidWorks 
  • Experience in computer programming 
  • Experience in CAD solid modeling 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent 
  • Experience in conducting programming 
  • Experience using video teleconferencing applications (i.e. Zoom or Teams)  
  • Experience in dimensioning, strength of materials, statics, dynamics  
  • Experience working with heat transfer, fluids, and thermodynamics 
  • Ability to hear audible alarms 
  • Must understand the importance of safety procedures and follow safety practices 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently  

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 

Work Experience: 

  • 1 to 5 years of relevant work experience
