NEOEx Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Technician.  As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment in support of facility operations, product development, and test operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and a passion for mechanical work in the growing industries of air mobility and energy.  

Duties:  

  • Install, inspect, test, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment following established codes and safety guidelines. 
  • Assemble water, pneumatic, cryogenic, and vacuum systems.   
  • Conduct leak checks and cryogenic testing on components and systems per approved test procedures.  
  • Assemble mechanical structures per approved assembly procedures.  
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum problems, identify issues, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.  
  • Perform light machining tasks such as cutting, drilling, grinding, and sanding. 
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.  
  • Physically construct or modify existing test setups required to perform testing.  
  • Conduct both basic and complex testing without supervision. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to assist in the design, layout, installation, and test of new mechanical systems.   
  • Document all test set-up and test results into laboratory notebook or other designated retention location. 
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment following written or verbal instruction. 
  • Inspect and supervise work done by external vendors. 
  • Monitor equipment, collect data, and ensure testing and production equipment is operating within defined specifications. 
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and mechanical schematics to effectively carry out assigned tasks.  
  • Competent with all standard work test procedures. 
  • Estimate time required to complete lab reports and work orders.  
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts. 
  • Develop skills regarding new testing technologies and methodologies as required.  
  • Comply with all safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.   
  • Travel to other NEOEx facilities as necessary. 
  • Conduct other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:  

  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills. 
  • Must be able to use good judgement and common sense to make numerous daily decisions. 
  • Must be able to reorder priorities in accordance with changing work conditions. 
  • Must be able to speak and write proficiently in the English language. 
  • Must be able to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Edge (or equivalent web browser)  
  • Must be able to use hand power tools. 
  • Must be able to use a computer. 
  • Must be able to use a remote video teleconferencing application (i.e. Zoom). 
  • Must be able to hear audible alarms. 
  • Must be able to work with others in a team environment. 
  • Must understand the importance of safety procedures and follow safety practices. 
  • Must be able to work independently.

At NEOEx Systems, we are working on an Energy and Power System and a Liquid Hydrogen Refueling System, which will revolutionize drone transportation by providing energy and power for longer duration and range operations. We work closely with UAV manufacturers to integrate our energy and power system into their vehicles to increase flight duration.  

We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Test Engineer to join our team. As a Test Engineer at NEOEx, you will play a crucial role in developing, coordinating, and executing various laboratory and production scale tests. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, process driven, analytical problem solver with a passion for product development testing in the growing industries of air mobility and energy.

This role will report to the Sr. Director of Operations.

Duties: 

  • Execute vibration and environmental stress tests.
  • Responsible for the writing and execution of tests and reporting of issues.
  • Coordinate test program development and support using automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Manage test hardware implementation and documentation.
  • Participate in designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Participate in development of testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, test scenarios, regression testing, unit and integration tests, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
  • Track and report against established QA metrics.
  • Participate in defining applicable testing procedures and expectations with business and development teams.
  • Write validation protocols and reports.
  • Author and review standard operating procedures.
  • Assist production with equipment setup/verification.
  • Provide overall test management for an assigned test project including developing detailed test plans and test schedules with task lists, durations and assignment of resources.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in planning and execution of test projects, coordination and support of maintenance activities. This includes daily coordination with the test team, generation of work instructions to the technical staff (via task orders or other approved means), and general reporting to contractor and customer management.
  • Analyze system requirements to match system capabilities with test requirements.
  • Coordinate with test engineering and technicians to prepare facility to meet test and operational requirements.
  • Prepare specifications and purchase requisitions for facility hardware.
  • Develop presentations and present at design reviews, safety reviews, and other technical presentations.
  • Provide periodic status reports on each assigned task to contractor/customer.
  • Conduct design of experiments and experimental error analyses.
  • Support technicians with troubleshooting and training. 
  • Analyze test data and identify early trends.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.)
  • Three (3) years' relevant experience
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Experience:

  • Experience with testing tools.
  • Ability to use basic electronic bench equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, curve tracer, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, aerospace testing and facility operations, mechanical design, and mechanical test systems involving hydraulics, high vacuum, and pneumatics.
  • Understanding of electronic test systems involving data acquisition, sensors, and signal conditioning.
  • Test development experience.

Skills:

  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must ability to speak and write proficiently in the English language. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in software development- Proficient in C/C++ programming language
  • Knowledge and understanding of fluids and gases including cryogenic, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen.

NEOEx Systems, Inc. has been growing quickly, and we continue to add new members to our team.  We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanical Engineer II to join our team. This role will be responsible to design and integrate mechanical systems into ground support equipment for fueling aircraft and for microgrid systems that will include energy generation and energy storage using battery energy storage systems. In addition, the Mechanical Engineer II will support the development of electric flight vehicles using design, analytical, and experimental skills to support company research and product development activities.

This role will report to the Sr. Director of Operations.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and manufacturing teams and external vendors and partners in developing and operating mechanical systems.
  • Use CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new mechanical system designs and produce detailed mechanical drawings.
  • Specify precise new product functional requirements: design, analyze, test, and integrate a variety of moderately complex components to produce final designs; evaluate the design's overall effectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (risk analysis), and safety.
  • Apply mechanical engineering integration knowledge to create controlled design documentation including but not limited to Design Requirements (functional and interface requirements), Design Documentation, P&IDs, Test Requirements Documents, Component Test Plans, Design Review Packages, Hazards Analyses, and Operational Check Sheets.
  • Conduct mechanical engineering calculations and analysis to solve problems.
  • Create and review part specifications and bills of materials for purchasing.
  • Present design substantiation and mechanical analysis in design reviews.
  • Lead efforts to fabricate, assemble, and integrate mechanical systems
  • Specify and conduct as necessary component, subsystem, and integrated system test experiments.
  • Prepare project deliverables including written statements of work, technical reports, and status reports.
  • Support new product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs)

Qualifications:

  • Ability to speak and write proficiently in the English language. 
  • Proficient experience in using SolidWorks.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and a multi-meter.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent.
  • Experience in dimensioning, strength of materials, statics, dynamics.
  • Experience working with heat transfer, fluids, and thermodynamics.
  • Ability to hear audible alarms.
  • Must understand the importance of safety procedures and follow safety practices
